Our Website Gets a Makeover: Discover SCI Italia’s New Visual Identity

We are excited to introduce the new visual identity of SCI Italia! After extensive revision and updates, we have completely redesigned our website to offer you a more intuitive, accessible, and engaging browsing experience.

Why a Redesign?

The evolution of our visual identity stems from the need to make our website clearer and more functional, improving the organization of information and making it easier to find international volunteering opportunities. We wanted a modern, dynamic website that aligns with our values of accessibility, inclusion, and sustainability.

Here are some of the key improvements you’ll find on the new site:

  • New design and color palette: A refreshed look that aligns with our visual identity.
  • Optimized navigation: Reorganized menus and a more intuitive structure to quickly find information about volunteering projects.
  • Updated content: Revised and enriched texts with clearer and more detailed information.
  • Enhanced mobile experience: A website fully adapted to all devices for easy and fast access wherever you are.
  • New landing pages: Dedicated pages for different volunteering programs, presenting opportunities more effectively.

A Thoughtful Color Choice

One of the most striking aspects of this redesign is our choice of colors. We opted for a palette that is not only visually appealing but also maximizes readability and accessibility.

  • Neon Blue (#1c64ff): Our primary color—vibrant, strong, and highly legible on any background.
  • Tomato Red (#ff6347): A color that captures attention without being overwhelming, highlighting key elements.
  • Light Cyan (#cdf8ff): A balancing color that creates breathing space between sections, making reading more comfortable.

This color scheme isn’t just about aesthetics—it serves a purpose: making our website more inclusive. We worked to ensure adequate contrast between elements, making the site easier to read for people with visual impairments or color blindness. The colors were selected following digital accessibility guidelines to provide the best contrast ratio between text and background. This ensures a smoother, barrier-free navigation experience for everyone.

Our Visual Identity Manual

We have also created a Visual Identity Manual, outlining guidelines for using our logo, colors, typography, and graphic elements that define our new image. This document is a crucial step in strengthening our visual communication and maintaining consistency across all our communication channels.
