The S.T.A.R: Story Tours Alternative Routes project is pleased to invite youth workers, educators, young people, trainers, community practitioners and organisations to the final STAR Webinar: Youth and Community Engagement through 360° Walking Tours.
The webinar will take place online on 11 June 2026, from 18:30 to 20:30 CEST, and participation is free of charge.
Over the past two and a half years, the STAR project has explored how walking tours can become innovative educational tools to strengthen youth participation, promote community engagement and support social change. Through international training courses, job shadowing experiences, research activities and local walking tours, the project empowered young people and youth workers to document local stories, connect communities and inspire action.
During the webinar, participants will hear from young people, youth workers, trainers and community practitioners who have taken part in the STAR journey. They will share their experiences in creating community-based 360° walking tours and reflect on how digital storytelling can support active citizenship, social inclusion and local participation.
The event will also present the main results of the project, including the STAR Educational Walking Tour Toolkit, the project’s research findings and policy recommendations. These resources were developed to support youth organisations, educators and local communities interested in using Educational Walking Tours as a methodology for non-formal education, inclusion and community-based learning.
The webinar will include interactive breakout sessions on storytelling in walking tours and community engagement practices, offering participants practical ideas and inspiration for their own work with young people and local communities.
